More About Coach Krauel
Coach Krauel graduated from North Canyon High School in 2005. As a junior, he was named 2nd-Team All-Region and led the Rattler men's basketball team to their first ever state playoff appearance in 2004. In 2005, the Rattlers won their first ever state playoff game and Krauel was named 1st-Team All-Region. He spent the next four years at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA. In his tenure there, Robert was a part of two Northwest Conference championship teams and made trips to both the Sweet Sixteen ('09) and Elite 8 ('06) rounds of the NCAA Division III National Tournament. He was a three-time all conference player and finished as the runner-up Conference Player of the Year in 2009. He has the 4th highest FG% in school history and received the University Leadership Award before graduating with BA in Sociology in 2009.
Coach Krauel now works full time as a Captain and Paramedic for the Chandler Fire Department where he has served since 2016. He lives in Glendale with his wife Anna (PVHS Dance) and two sons, Cooper (4) and Jordan (1). He has 15 years of high school coaching experience and a Master's Degree in Leadership from Grand Canyon University (2014). His coaching philosophy is simple: team over self, attention to detail, sense of urgency.
