Mark MacGowan
Varsity Assistant Coach

Coach MacGowan started his coaching career at PVHS in 1990 as a varsity assistant for the boys basketball program under the tutelage of AZ Coaching Hall of Famer William Farrell.  Coach MacGowan was the Boys Basketball Assistant Varsity coach from 1990 to 1998.  During that span, the Trojans captured two state championships (1995 & 1997).  Coach was hired as the PVHS Boys Varsity Basketball coach in 1998 until he retired in 2017.  Coach MacGowan compiled a 366-177 record and led the Trojans to a 2006 AZ State Runner-up, a 2013 AZ State Championship, and three other final four appearances. 

Also, Coach MacGowan has been coaching for the PVUSD Middle School Basketball teams and has coached several of the young ladies at PVHS. 

Coach MacGowan is a proud PVHS Alumni (1984), and Arizona State alumni.  Coach is also on the boys P.E. staff at PVHS.

Coach MacGowan is married (Becky), and they have two children, Abby and Luke. 

During his free time, Coach MacGowan enjoys playing golf, working out, hiking, and spending quality time with his family and friends.
